Contract Building Services (Scotland) Limited recognises the importance of the health, safety and welfare of employees which is of prime importance to our Company and is essential to the efficient operation of our undertakings.
The responsibility for safety at work rests upon those in Top Management. The company will ensure that this policy is communicated throughout the organisation. We will take all reasonably practicable precautions to provide safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health of our employees and eliminating hazards and reducing OH&S risk by providing:
- A safe working environment through the design, construction, operation and maintenance of all plant, equipment and facilities.
- Safe systems of work.
- Adequate instruction, information, training and supervision.
- Control of all situations likely to cause damage to property and equipment.
- Effective facilities for the treatment of injuries which occur at work.
- Effective fire prevention and fire control procedures.
- Adequate facilities for consultation between management and employee representatives.
We will achieve this by implementation of our Health & Safety Management System and meeting our Health and Safety Objectives.
The company expects employees to conform to this policy and to comply with the relevant sections of the ‘Health & Safety at Work Act’ and to exercise all reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions. We expect all employees to take a thoughtful approach to all health & safety matters in accordance with their training.
The overall responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of Contract Building Services (Scotland) Ltd and our personnel is vested with the appointed the Health and Safety Manager.
We fully commit to this policy and support the Health and Safety Manager in ensuring its implementation and in order to meet all Health and Safety legal and other requirements. This policy will be regularly reviewed by Health and Safety Manager.
We also commit to continually improve our OH&S Management System and to the consultation and participation of our workers when maintaining the system.
Copies are made available to all members of staff and relevant interested parties along with copies of the minutes of Management Reviews, or extracts thereof, in accordance with their role and responsibilities as a means of communicating the effectiveness of our Health and Safety Management System.
